The Third Season Of ‘The Mandalorian’ Is Already In The Works
With the excellent first season of The Mandalorian in the bag and with the second season set to premiere on Disney+ in October, reports from Variety indicate that Disney has already begun work on the eventual third season of the hit Pedro Pascal-starring Star Wars series.
Pre-production has already begun on a third installment of the wildly popular Disney Plus series, Variety has learned exclusively.
Sources close to the production have confirmed that creator Jon Favreau has been “writing season 3 for a while,” and that the art department, led by Lucasfilm vice president and executive creative director Doug Chiang, has been creating concepts for Season 3 “for the past few weeks.”
“We’ve just started pre-production and are looking into further adventures for the Mandalorian in Season 3,” revealed one source. [via Variety]
The second season of the series was already shaping up to be better than the first, as Rosario Dawson has signed on to appear as fan-favorite Jedi Ahsoka Tano. Ahsoka, who is from the Star Wars animated series The Clone Wars, will be making her live-action debut on The Mandalorian.
While Jedis were barely mentioned in the first season, Tano’s introduction into the series suggests that the Jedi and the Force will be explored further as Mando attempts to bring Baby Yoda back to his native planet and people.
All eight episodes of The Mandalorian are currently streaming on Disney+.
