Never before has an entertainment venue captivated the internet like the ‘Sphere’ in Las Vegas. Social media is over-saturated with a ridiculous amount of videos and images from both inside and outside of the 18,000-person arena. It has even become a topic of day-to-day conversation.

U2 is currently performing at the Sphere through the middle of February. They recently extended their residency beyond the initial end date of late December.

It is very possible that U2 could extend again. At some point, though, another performer will takeover.

There are a few theories about who that could be, but one of them has been ruled out.

The Sphere, located at the Venetian Resort, features the world’s largest LED screen and a whopping 164,000 surround-sound speakers. It has already solidified itself as one of the coolest venues in music, despite being open for less than a month.

Kiss, the American rock band that skyrocketed to international stardom in the mid-1970s, was considered one of the groups that could have interest in the Sphere. They are set to wrap up their ‘End Of The Road’ tour in December, which is going to be their final tour together.

In turn, there was some speculation that Kiss might swing by Las Vegas for a few shows before heading into retirement. The band is known for their big on-stage visuals, so the Sphere would have provided a really cool opportunity to rock and roll.

That will not be happening. Frontman Paul Stanley shut down the idea during a recent interview with Ultimate Classic Rock.

I can’t speak to it in any other way except to be honest with you about how I feel now, and the way I feel today is… I can’t really see that happening. As far as I’m concerned, we’re done.

Well, that settles that. Kiss is not Kiss without Stanley.

If Stanley is out, Kiss is out.

Could Stanley be throwing people off of the scent? Sure.

Could Stanley change his mind? Absolutely.

However, it certainly sounds like Kiss will finish its tour next month and call it a career. Count them out.
