For at least 15 centuries there have been people claiming to have seen something large moving in the water of Loch Ness in Scotland.

Hundreds of Loch Ness Monster sightings have been reported over the years with countless more not being officially recorded.

Last month, one Nessie hunter recorded another of his more than 20 sightings since 2017 of the elusive creature.

While he spends an inordinate amount of time searching for the Loch Ness Monster, it is sightings by folks that are just visiting the area, with nothing to gain by reporting their sightings, that are really compelling.

For instance, in April, tourist John Payne, 55, from Newport in Wales spotted Nessie as he was looking over the water from his hotel window.

The most recent reported sighting of the Loch Ness Monster occurred in similar fashion to Etienne Camel, a pharmacist from Lyon in France, and his wife Eliane.

Etienne and Eliane were on vacation taking photos on the west side of the loch when they spotted something very large in the water.

“It was quite strange. I am a man of science so I never believed that the Loch Ness monster is a prehistoric animal,” Etienne told the Telegraph. “But when I was taking a picture I saw this long, long shadow.

“I called my wife over and we saw the shadow move.

“I thought maybe it was a cloud, but there was none, or a boat, but none was near or reefs. There were small waves, like something was moving.

“It was 15-20 meters long and was about 150 meters away. It was quite strange and then it disappeared.”

While he isn’t 100 percent sure that what he saw was the Loch Ness Monster because it never emerged from the water, he doesn’t sound like he is ruling it out.

“We could not tell if it was an animal, but something was moving under the water. I have never seen such [things] in lakes – and we have many where we live – before.”

There have been numerous theories about the Loch Ness Monster over the years.

Some of the most popular theories include speculation that Nessie is some type of undiscovered turtle or a plesiosaur that somehow has survived.

Another wild theory is that Loch Ness Monster (and Bigfoot) actually exist in a parallel universe, which would explain why they are so elusive and have never been captured. That theory gained even more steam when NASA found evidence of a parallel universe in May of 2020.
