The Transport Security Administration (TSA) is notoriously strict when it comes to liquids when traveling. For one Delta worker, those rules certainly worked in her favor.
In a TikTok that has amassed 1.8 million views, Haley Vossr (@haleyvossr) shared how an airport worker ended up walking off with all of her “liquid gold.”
The video consisted of the user carrying perfume towards the bin before passing it to a uniformed Delta worker. She then pulled other beauty products out of her bag and gave them to that same employee.
On-screen text read: “POV: TSA made me toss all my liquid gold… they were too good to trash so the Delta employee scored them instead.”
BroBible reached out to Vossr via TikTok direct message. BroBible also reached out to Delta via contact form and TSA via email.
What Did Commenters Say?
Commenters were confused that it had come to that.
“All you have to do is pay 35 $40 for a checked bag,” one wrote.
“Is it your first time flying?” a second asked.
“They should have a system where you can pay to ship them wherever you are going or back to your home,” a third suggested.
A fourth asked, “Do people not read TSA guidelines when packing?”
However, some commenters defended the TikToker.
“Omg y’all not every brand makes travel size and also not everyone wants to buy another one for that,” a fifth pointed out.
While a sixth said, “I love that you choose to give it away instead of just wasting them.”
What Are The TSA Liquid Rules?
According to Level 8, the TSA’s philosophy is that if you can smear it, spray it, pump it, or pour it, it counts as a liquid (yes, even grenade-shaped hot sauce). So, perfume is a very obvious part of that category.
Generally, the TSA follows the 3-1-1 liquid rule. This refers to three main limitations set out by the rules: 3.4oz (100ml) containers, one quart-sized bag, and one carry-on bag per passenger.
If a container is larger than 3.4oz (100ml), it won’t be allowed in. This applies even if the container is only partly full.
Instead, it is recommended that passengers take any larger bottles through their checked baggage instead.

There is no limit on the amount of liquid you put in checked baggage. The only exception is if the liquid in question is alcohol.
So, in other words, these perfumes may have been able to go through security if they were in a checked bag. But unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here.
