Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Wild video shows lightning striking a tree in Miami, Florida, causing it to fall directly onto a moving Range Rover.

The lightning struck a tree on Friday morning, causing it to fall into the roadway as the Range Rover passed by. According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, emergency responders transported one person to a South Florida trauma center as a result of the crash.

A nearby home security camera captured the instant when lightning struck the Norfolk pine tree, creating a loud boom and sending wood fragments flying into the air.

“If you look close into that video, it’s like a mini explosion by the tree, yeah, which caused it to fall down,” Leonce Luma, who lives across the street from where the accident occurred, told CBS News Miami.

“Something struck that tree, and then you can see just rubble come down and just pieces of wood, and it literally was like perfect timing,” Luma added. “Unfortunately, the car literally passed under that tree, as it was falling in, and you can see the aftermath. It’s kind of crazy right now.”

“Like a bomb,” neighbor Michele Francos told NBC 6 News.

WPLG News reported that paramedics transported the driver of the Range Rover to Ryder Trauma Center in Miami. Miami-Dade paramedics had to cut the man out of the car to treat him. Thankfully, police told the news outlet that the driver was going to be “okay.”
