Despite the recent release of numerous declassified files, whistleblower David Grusch and several lawmakers claim the Pentagon knows far more about UFOs and extraterrestrial life than it has revealed.

Grusch, a veteran of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), was joined by Congresspersons Anna Paulina Luna, Tim Burchett, Eric Burlison, and Jared Moskowitz, in a press conference on Tuesday.

During the event held on the lawn by the U.S. Capitol, the group demanded that the government release files it reportedly has detailing encounters between humans and non-human alien life.

“There are serious homeland security and airspace safety issues,” said David Grusch, who spent 14 years in the Air Force before working in intelligence and testified before Congress in 2023. “For decades, unknown objects have freely operated in restricted airspace, in large metropolitan areas and critical infrastructure, and the agencies responsible for securing the homeland cannot adequately defend against it. This is a serious national security issue.”

Grusch added, “Classification exists to protect the nation. Embarrassment, hiding funds, criminal activity and basic information about scientific information in the universe is unlawful classification.”

He added that multiple government officials are aware of “several” forms of extraterrestrial life. “The topics that we’re discussing here today go beyond life in the universe,” Grusch said.

The lawmakers want to see more transparency from the U.S. government

Lawmakers at the event also demanded that certain officials release certain documents, including those pertaining to the 1996 Varginha event, AKA Brazil’s Roswell. Witnesses to the event claimed to have encountered sentient, non-human entities that the United States recovered.

“For decades, the American people have been treated like children, told there are government secrets they just don’t get to know,” said Burlison.

Burlison also described a “Tom Clancy-style dead drop” of material at his office, noting that whistleblowers are afraid to even contact Congress. In order to allow UFO whistleblowers to talk freely, he urged President Donald Trump to waive nondisclosure agreements.

Burchett claimed that one of the numerous obstacles they and others have encountered was the transfer of UFO-related information to private companies, making it impossible to obtain it through a FOIA request.

“If Congress says we’re going to go to Area 51, all we’re going to get is a dadgum T-shirt,” Burchett said. “The moving man will already be there.”
