Showtime’s New Show Billions About Hedge Funds

There are a handful of movies that finance Bros who work at desks at J.P Morgan and BoA love to gush about. Wall Street, of course, along with Boiler Room, The Wolf of Wall Street, American Psycho, Margin Call, Glengarry Glen Ross, etc, etc. Bros LOVE these flicks for fetishizing their i-banker lifestyles, along with all those moral issues that come with capitalism and greed.

Even though we live in a golden era of critically-acclaimed scripted television, no one has taken a stab at a good show about the inner-workings of high finance. Fortunately, Brian Koppelman, David Levien, and New York Times business journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin stepped to the plate for a series with Paul Giamatti and Damien Lewis. It’s called Billions and it’s on Showtime, debuting in 2016.

Personally, I’m pumped for it. Since it’s on Showtime, I’d just like to think of it as Body’s doppelganger from Homeland coming back from war and getting ridiculously rich on The Street. Dude is a badass.

I expect to hear every 22-year-old Bro at Brother Jimmy’s recite the quote at the end of the trailer this upcoming Thursday night.
