Watch The 1000-HP Hennessey Camaro Exorcist Hit 217 MPH In Top Speed Test

We’ve already seen what the Hennessey Performance Engineering can do with a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. HPE recently transformed a Hennessey Demon to have an NHRA legal roll cage, a parachute, and upgraded supercharger systems that pump out an astounding 1,500 horsepower. Now Hennessey Performance Engineering has impressively upgraded a 2018 Chevy Camaro, in a speed demon they call “The Exorcist.”

The Hennessey Exorcist is the answer to the devilishly road-searing Hennessey Demon. The Hennessey Exorcist tamed the Demon in this latest top speed test. The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon had a top speed of 203 mph and it has been topped by Hennessey Exorcist with a blistering top speed of 217 mph. The Exorcist went down to Texas for a speed test at the Continental Tire Proving Grounds in Uvalde.

The Exorcist is a massively upgraded Camaro ZL1 which comes with a supercharged LT4 6.2-liter V8 engine. Hennessey took the Camaro ZL1 and turned 650 horsepower into a roaring 1,000 horsepower and 996 pound-feet of torque. Hennessey gave the American muscle car a bigger supercharger, high-flow air induction, long-tube stainless steel headers, a camshaft upgrade, and tuned the engine. The Exorcist was fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires were left stock for this test.

The Hennessey Exorcist hit a breakneck top speed of 217 mph at the 8.5-mile oval track, which is 19 mph faster than the stock ZL1’s factory-quoted top speed of 198 mph. The Exorcist is even faster than the McLaren 720S, Porsche 911 GT2 RS, Ferrari 812 Superfast, Lamborghini Huracan, and the 2019 Chevy Corvette ZR1, which has a top speed of 210. “It’s kind of like having a new ZR1 Corvette with room for 4 people – but faster,” says HPE’s John Hennessey. The Exorcist can zoom from 0-60 in less than three seconds and a quarter-mile in under 10. For this ridiculous performance, it will cost you $119,950 for this demon-taming beast. However, you better act fast because Hennessey is planning to make only 100 Camaro Exorcist cars, and 20 of which have already been snatched up.
