49ers Long Snapper Trolls DK Metcalf With Obscene ASL Message After Victory Over Seahawks

Long snappers typically don’t get a ton of attention in the NFL thanks to the nature of their position, but Taybor Pepper managed to drum some up after setting his sights on DK Metcalf in the wake of San Francisco’s victory over Seattle on Sunday.

If you’ve been keeping tabs on DK Metcalf this season, you know he’s incorporated American Sign Language into a number of his touchdown celebrations. That was once again the case when he scored against the 49ers, as he spelled out “My little dog W-O-O-F” following a 31-yard play in the first quarter.

However, Metcalf’s afternoon was cut short after he once again lost his temper on the field, as he (along with 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir) was sent to the locker room in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter after the wide receiver sparked a bit of a melee by slamming Fred Warner to the turf following an interception.

When everything was said and done, the 49ers walked away with a 28-16 victory, and while it would be a stretch to suggest their long snapper had a major impact on the game, he couldn’t stop himself from taking a victory lap at Metcalf’s expense following the contest.

On Sunday evening, Pepper posted a video he filmed while sitting at his locker with the caption “Anyone know ASL?”

Now, I’m going to assume the vast majority of the people reading this do not, in fact, know ASL. However, some people who do were kind enough to translate, as the message translated to “14 [Metcalf’s number], f—– around and found out.”

I’m not going to pretend Pepper is in a position to fire this kind of shot at Metcalf when you consider the role both men played in the eventual outcome of the game, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t respect it.
