During Sunday’s grotesque 13-8 home loss to the Atlanta Falcons, in which the team, once again, failed to score a touchdown, quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Zach Wilson were seen chuckling to themselves while watching the disaster that is the New York Jets.

Given that Rodgers and Wilson are the two primary reasons the Jets are struggling this year — Rodgers, because he got injured almost immediately, perhaps indicating a lack of proper preparation, and Wilson, because he sucks — it’s certainly a bold move of them to openly laugh at their teammates as they slog through the rain during another miserable season.

The loss to the Falcons puts the Jets record at 4-8, which all but officially ends their chances of qualifying for the playoffs in the crowded AFC.

While Rodgers had previously entertained returning for the Jets December 24th game against the Washington Commanders, that gambit for attention seems to be coming to an end, as reports now indicate that the 40-year-old will not be seeing the field again this season.

As for Wilson, following two inept performances from third-stringer Tim Boyle, the Jets are reportedly thinking about going back to Wilson as their starter. According to Dianna Russini, however, the monumental draft bust is “reluctant to step back in.”

The Jets certainly don’t have it easy over the next month, as their final five games are against the Houston Texans (7-5), Miami Dolphins (9-3), Washington Commanders (4-9, although the Commanders will likely be favored because they know how to score points), Cleveland Browns (7-5), and New England Patriots (2-10, although it’ll be on the road in what might be Bill Belichick’s final game as Pats head coach).

Despite the team’s immense struggles this year, particularly on the offensive side of the ball, reports indicate that offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, head coach Robert Saleh, and general manager will all be back next year thanks to Rodgers protecting their necks.
