Following a nightmarish start to the season that saw them lose Aaron Rodgers to an ACL injury and then lose the next three games, the Jets finally seemed to find their winning formula against the Denver Broncos this weekend: Breece Hall.

After the Jets lost Hall to a torn ACL while playing in Denver last year — Hall was looking like a potential Offensive Rookie of the Year at the time — the second-year running back returned to the Mile High City this season and put on his best performance as a pro.

In the Week 5 matchup against the Broncos, Hall had 22 carries for 177 yards including this show-stopping 72-yard touchdown which gave the Jets a crucial second-half league.

Hall is doing more than just passing the eye test, too, as his yards-per-carry through 12 career games has put him in elite, Hall of Fame company.

With his 177-yard outburst against the Denver Broncos, Hall has now recorded 850 rushing yards on 134 carries in his career, giving him an average of 6.34 yards per carry. That is the best yards-per-carry average posted by a running back through his first 12 career games (with a minimum of 100 carries) since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. [via Jet X Factor]

As per Pro Football Reference, Hall’s 12-game-long YPG average (6.34 on 134) puts him atop a list that includes the likes of Franco Harris (6.32), Adrian Peterson (5.86), and Bo Jackson (5.79).

It should be noted, however, that Phillip Lindsay, who is no longer in the NFL at 29 years old (as Jerry Jeudy so brutally reminded him), is also in the top five of this stat.
