When he’s at his best, there’s no denying that Bryson DeChambeau is one of the best golfers on the planet. His two U.S. Open victories make that abundantly clear.

What is also undeniable, however, is that no professional golfer on the planet has the propensity for getting under fans’ skin quite the way that DeChambeau does. Whether it’s his conspiracy theories, his haughty attitude, or his boy genius persona, DeChambeau just finds ways to pick at fans, and often his fellow competitors, in ways that few others can.

Lately, that attitude has come to the forefront after DeChambeau missed the cut in both The Masters and the PGA Championship to start the year.

Rather than self-reflection, however, DeChambeau has found a new way to make sure people find him as insufferable as possible.

Bryson DeChambeau Turned To AI To Try And Fix His Golf Swing

After a difficult start to the 2026 season, you’d think that may DeChambeau would try a new swing coach, or re-evaluate his unique approach of using clubs that are all the same length.

Instead, DeChambeau had a different idea. If he can’t fix his swing, then clearly there’s no human being on Earth smart enough to do so. So, DeChambeau decided to turn to AI.

“I was slamming the club in the ground, trying to figure out what to do. I was frustrated. Been trying everything in my body. I didn’t actually figure it out on the range,” DeChambeau said when asked how he went from shooting 71 in the third round at LIV Golf Korea to 65 in the final round, which saw him finish in a tie for third.

I spent some long hours on the range trying to figure some stuff out, and I was talking to AI quite a bit last night, trying to go through some different physics principles that make the club turn over, having some alpha torque and gamma torque put in there,” he added. “I was like, what makes that possibly do that, and was talking about just grip pressure and tension.”

Unsurprisingly, fans were quick to roll their eyes at DeChambeau.

“The most credulous people on earth, whose defining character trait is their inability to tell the difference between good ideas and bad ideas, LOVE to tell you how great AI is,” one wrote on X.

I don’t think there has ever been a bigger dork in golf history,” said another.

Now, DeChambeau did improve between rounds. So perhaps he’s onto something. But the odds that AI is actually responsible for fixing his swing seem slim to none.

It’s just another classic Bryson DeChambeau story that will follow him around for years to come.
