Most athletes have some sort of pregame ritual as they are some of the most superstitious people walking the planet. Maybe it’s something subtle like always tying your right shoe before your left, or maybe it’s a bit weirder like playing a weird ‘knife game’ with your team’s assistant equipment manager like Victor Hedman of the Lightning does.
Some people indulge in some substances before each game. Michael Jordan has said he smoked a cigar before every home game while Percy Harvin said that he smoked weed before every game of his career.
Smoking is one thing, but how about popping some erectile dysfunction pills to really get the blood flowing? Chad Johnson apparently went that route and popped Viagra before every game.

Someone asked in a reply if he was joking, but Johnson responded in a recently deleted tweet saying, “No it wasn’t a joke, I really took viagra before games, the increase in blood flow made me unbelievable explosive in & out of my routes.”
He also went on to make the joke that nobody was going to stop him when he was running on three legs.

Johnson hauled in 766 catches for over 11,00 yards and 67 touchdowns throughout his successful NFL career. Maybe he really is onto something and that little blue pill did give him an extra boost on Sundays.
