Earlier this week, the Chicago Bears were reportedly in the hunt to sign quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and make him the team’s new starting quarterback.
Bridgewater ended up signing a huge deal with the Carolina Panthers and instead will be replacing Cam Newton at quarterback and Brady will reportedly end up in Tampa Bay so they’re out.
The Bears’ current starting quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky, has come under fire from the fans and media of Chicago for the sophomore slump he went through after being drafted second overall and making the Pro Bowl in his rookie season.
Making matters worse for Bears fans, both DeShaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes were taken after Trubisky in the 2017 draft and have so far had more success.
Even worse, the Bears actually traded up to draft Trubisky – something the team’s fans constantly reminded him of during the 2019 season.
So when several Bears receivers this week went on social media to express how much they’d like to have either Tom Brady, Teddy Bridgewater or Cam Newton throwing them passes, there’s no way Trubisky can possibly be Chicago’s starting quarterback when the 2020 NFL season gets rolling, can there?
Cordarrelle Patterson tweeted at both Brady and Bridgewater and Allen Robinson liked a tweet about Newton possibly coming to the Bears.
@TomBrady good morning! Heard the news. Just making sure you are good? Asking for my friends..

Probably not a good thing for Mitchell Trubisky when his receivers are doing this…. pic.twitter.com/ChXEVyFkrG

Eh, I’m sure once the dust settles everything will be fine in Chicago.
Bears are trying to acquire Andy Dalton or Nick Foles, per @WerderEdESPN.
