The Chicago Blackhawks had a few special guests on hand for a recent matchup against the Detroit Red Wings. Sports stars Dennis Rodman and John McEnroe were in attendance, while Chi-Town legends Cindy Crawford and Eddie Vedder faced off in a center ice shoot-off during the second intermission.

Crawford would win that competition, showing off her skills in the rink. But while everyone on the home side was aware of who that contest winner was, it was unclear to some on the Detroit sideline!

Lining up at center ice, the duo took turns attempting to knock the puck through one of three tiny slots at the net. Vedder, the Pearl Jam lead singer, was unable to do so, but Crawford found success in shot number three.

In heels, no less!

Cindy Crawford is one of the original supermodels. Gaining popularity in the 1980s and 90s as both a model and actress, she ranks fifth on Playboy’s sexiest women of the 20th century.

She appeared in a number of popular television shows following her time in modeling and is still a widely known figure across the entertainment world.

Her ’92 Pepsi ad is still recognizable across a variety of generations and was so popular that it was remade for the 2018 Super Bowl.

But not everyone is in the know!

A Detroit Red Wings assistant had no clue who Cindy Crawford was on Sunday.

The Detroit Free Press broke down a funny interaction between Red Wing staff members after Crawford netted that center-ice goal.

[During the competition] Wings head coach Derek Lalonde was preparing in the visiting team’s coaches’ room along with assistants Bob Bougher, Alex Tanguay, Jay Varady, Alex Westlund and others.

“I noticed Cindy Crawford,” Lalonde said afterwards. “Bob Boughner said, ‘Who’s that? She’s really pretty.’ And we’re like, boy, you can really pick them out. He goes, ‘Yeah, I’ve got a good eye, I’ve got a good eye.’ ”

Apparently, though, not good enough to recognize one of the most famous models in the world.

Bob Boughner is an associate coach in Detroit who played for a number of teams throughout his NHL career. He was drafted in 1989, so you’d think he’d have an idea of who the supermodel was given her popularity at the time.

Apparently not!
