The Cleveland Browns have added another quarterback to their roster, as the team has signed former Super Bowl winner Joe Flacco to a one-year contract. Flacco, who has been in the NFL since 2008, spent the 2023 with the Browns, winning Comeback Player of the Year.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Joe Flacco has returned to the Cleveland Browns on a one-year, $4 million deal worth up to $13 million with incentives. Schefter said that Flacco also had discussions with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns.
Flacco, 40 years old, is coming up on his 18th season in the NFL. Flacco won the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year award in 2023 after starting in 5 games for the Browns, going 4-1 and helping them secure a playoff berth.

During the 2023 season with the Browns, which was under head coach Kevin Stefanski, who remains in charge, Flacco completed 60.3% of his passes for 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in five starts.
Last year, he played in six games for the Indianapolis Colts, completed 65.3% of his passes (tied for a career-high) for 1,761 yards, 12 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
Flacco’s career with the Baltimore Ravens peaked in 2012, when he lead the team to a Super Bowl title. Flacco was lights out during the Ravens’ playoff run, completing 57.9% of his passes for 1,140 yards, 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions. While Flacco is much older these days, he’s still shown the ability to come up big in the clutch, hence why he keeps finding work in the NFL.
The veteran QB will likely compete with former first round pick Kenny Pickett for the starting role, whom the Browns traded for from the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this offseason.
