The college football world is furious upon learning the start time for an upcoming matchup between Ohio State and Penn State. The Buckeyes and Nittany Lions will square off at noon in Week 8.

Many believe it was a missed opportunity for FOX to showcase two of the nation’s top programs with a night game. Instead, the rivals will take the field for an early afternoon kick.

For Ohio State, it will be a third straight noon start after early kicks for Maryland and Purdue. Against the Terps, the Buckeyes looked sleepy, falling behind 10-0.

They’d overcome the slow start to win, 37-17.

For Penn State, it will be the team’s fourth noon kick in seven games.

Both teams find themselves ranked in the Top 10 of the latest AP Poll, with OSU coming in at No. 3 and PSU sitting at No. 6. They’ll have an opportunity to create a Top 5 matchup should they take care of business this weekend.

The Big Ten showdown will have major implications on the outcome of the conference race, and fans believe it should’ve been played in primetime.

Here was the immediate reaction on social media.

“Something needs to be done about the constant noon games.”

“Fox SUCKS! This should be a night game.”

“This game being at Noon should be illegal.”

Ohio State fans were particularly upset as they feel networks are more likely to schedule night games when the Buckeyes travel to Beaver Stadium, but the favor isn’t returned in Columbus.

“Why is it when PSU comes here, we get a noon game but when we go there, it’s a night game?”

Start time aside, Ohio State and Penn State should provide entertainment for viewers. Both will likely be undefeated when the game rolls around.
