The Colorado Buffaloes and coach Deion Sanders have had a rough go of it lately. After a 3-0 start, the team lost 8 of 9 games, including their last six to finish 4-8.

And, it seems like all the momentum has been sapped from the program, especially on the recruiting trail. The program has suffered a few notable decommitments recently, and now they have more bad news, as Nick Marsh, one of the nation’s top wide receiver recruits in the class of 2024, will not be going on an official visit to the program this upcoming weekend.

Marsh, the 115th ranked player overall in the Class of 2024 according to On3 Sports, has been committed to Michigan State since July. And, even though reopened his recruitment following the scandalous dismissal of coach Mel Tucker in September, he never reneged on his commitment with the program.

Now, with the program having hired former Oregon State coach Jonathan Smith over the weekend, Marsh seems like he may stay committed to Michigan State. Smith is unsurprisingly pushing hard to keep him, according to On3.

From Colorado’s perspective, when it rains it pours. And, it’s certainly pouring in Boulder now, so to speak. Over the last few weeks, the team has received decommitments from stud 2025 recruits in quarterback Antwann Hill, wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr., and running back Jamarice Wilder. And, they lost their 2024 quarterback recruit in Danny O’Neil over the weekend.

Colorado now has the 65th-ranked recruiting class in the class of 2024, and do not have a single commit in 2025. That is, obviously, not good.

Deion Sander has been teasing big things are coming on the recruiting front. And, doubting him would seem like a bad move. But, things certainly look bleak right now for the Buffaloes heading into portal season and early signing day.
