Deion Sanders continues to overtake the college football world. Soon enough, he’ll be in your classrooms, too.

The University of Colorado has announced its intention to offer a “Coach Prime” marketing course for its students. The news comes after Sanders’ first season in Boulder.

In that debut campaign, the Buffs went 4-8 after getting off to a 3-0 start. While the finish to the season wasn’t what their head coach had in mind, he was still able to almost single handedly revive national interest in the Colorado program.

After posting a 1-11 mark in 2022, leading to the midseason firing of Karl Dorrell, the hiring of Sanders sparked excitement in Boulder and throughout the college football world.

Merchandise and ticket sales skyrocketed, spring game attendance soared, and a $113 million local economy boost was seen over the Buffs’ six home games.

Coach Prime marketed his program on a nation stage, seeing College GameDay and FOX Big Noon Kickoff make stops on campus throughout the year. He was also able to nab massive NIL deals with major brands around the country.

Even though Colorado ended the year losing seven of eight games, Deion Sanders was a storyline. He was eventually named Sportsperson of the Year for his on and off-field accomplishments.

Now, more fanfare is on the way.

Colorado is creating a “Coach Prime” marketing course for students.

“The course will focus on helping college athletes explore how to manage their time in college, prepare for career, manage their celebrity, identify when best to speak into their profit center, advocate for worthy causes, coordinate with sports agents and how to interact with journalists and the media,” the elective course description read.

While Sanders won’t be teaching the classes, he will be a focal point in the coursework. Instead, a “variety of media experts” will do their best to teach this process.

As for Prime Time, he’s looking to continue building on what he’s started in Boulder. Recruiting season is in full swing, and soon enough, the Buffs will gear up for the 2024 season.
