Deion Sanders would land a spot on most NFL Mount Rushmore lists following a Hall of Fame career. Prime is widely recognized as one of the greatest defensive backs to ever play the game.
He clearly agrees with that sentiment. When asked in an online Q & A session a few years back, he said his face would take all four places atop the US monument had it been football related.

As it turns out, Sanders has been in the dark on the presidential sculpture’s location all this time. On Tuesday, he got a free geography lesson.
When talking about expectations for his Colorado football team prior to season’s start, the head coach says the bar was set high.
“My expectations are out of the dern park,” Prime said in his weekly presser. “You gotta understand. What’re those little four heads that are in California? What do they call those? I set ’em up there.”
Reporters in the room told Deion Sanders that he was thinking about Mount Rushmore, then corrected him on the actual site of the memorial – which is in South Dakota.
“I thought it was in LA all this time. Wow, my geography… Thank you for educating me.”
Many had fun with the comments online, with one person posting, “Deion didn’t come to Colorado to play school,” a play on Cardale Jones’ viral quip at Ohio State.
While the Buffs certainly outperformed many preseason expectations set by the media, Sanders has to be disappointed with his team’s 4-7 record following a quick 3-0 start.
Colorado has dropped seven of its last eight games, all of which came in PAC 12 play. If there is any positive to take away, it’s that five of those defeats came by one score, including against ranked foes USC, Oregon State, and Arizona.
Still, the team clearly didn’t live up to Coach Prime’s aspirations. They’ll look to close out the season strong with a win over Utah.
