Former five-star cornerback Denver Harris entered the transfer portal after the 2024 college football season. He’s now announced his next destination.
Harris will suit up for the UNLV Rebels next year as he looks to close out his NCAA career. That path his been a winding one, but he hopes to end it on a high note.
The defender initially signed with Texas A&M as a member of the Aggies’ historic No. 1 recruiting class. Off-the-field issues eventually led to his departure. Harris was suspended twice while in College Station, leading to a transfer to rival LSU.
With the Tigers, the issues continued. Though head coach Brian Kelly claimed to have vetted the addition, he’d see Harris take time away from the program for “personal reasons.” That absence came after he faced suspension for his involvement in a preseason fight.
After leaving LSU, Denver Harris landed back in the Lone Star State with UTSA. Last year, he played in 11 games racking up 16 tackles and three pass breakups. Soon, he’ll suit up for his fourth school in as many seasons.

While he’s no longer playing in the SEC, there will be ties to the league at his next stop. Former Florida and Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen is taking over for the Rebels football program. Previous coach Barry Odom accepted a job at Purdue at season’s end.
The signing comes days after Harris took a trip to Norman to visit Oklahoma. For one reason or another, that marriage didn’t work out.
Now, he’ll look to finish strong with UNLV. The Rebs will gladly celebrate the addition as they look to continue the momentum after an 11-win season.
Harris is talented. Off-the-field issues have largely prevented him from being able to demonstrate his football abilities. He’ll have one last chance to do so with his new program.
