Depending on which side of this situation you fall into, you can either blame Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson or thank them for Taylor Swift taking over the NFL.
That’s because the two NFL broadcasters basically willed the relationship to happen back in August. (Sorry, Andy Reid. It wasn’t you.)
“Just saying … 🤷🏼♀️🫶🏽 @erinandrews & I recorded this episode back on August 3rd @killatrav @taylorswift @calmdownpodcast,” Thompson wrote in the caption to an Instagram video on Monday.
“Taylor, I don’t know what you are doing in your life right now besides rocking the world,” Andrews says during that day’s episode of the Calm Down with Erin and Charissa podcast.
“Please try our friend Travis,” Erin continued. “He is fantastic!
“This is one Taylor, I know we’re not the best of friends. We’re not even friends, but I consider you one.
“Take us up on this. Go on a date with this guy.”
“Do it for America,” Andrews begged.
“I was just going to say, do it for yourself, do it for us, and do it for the people,” Thompson jumped in.
“Because there is no one that would give you a better time than this guy.”
“You two are something else!!” Travis Kelce wrote in the comments with laughing-crying and raised hands emojis.
“I owe you big time!!” he added.
“@killatrav we do what we can. This is what we’re here for!” the podcast’s Instagram account wrote back.
Now, whether the whole Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce relationship is just one big PR stunt certainly remains up for debate. Maybe it’s to promote a movie, who knows?
What we do know is that, as Mark Cuban explained in trying to get T-Swizzle to date one of his Dallas Mavericks players, “Taylor Swift impacts the economy. She adds value everywhere she goes.”
That’s because fans, at least non-diehard NFL fans, simply cannot seem to get enough of her and Trav.
“I am not even a big Swifty or football fan, but I am so invested in them. I’m obsessed!” one person commented on Thompson’s Instagram post.
“Thank you!!! I remember this! And it worked!” another wrote.
“The calm down ladies called it! Manifesting 101,” read another comment.
