Fans Have Comical Reactions To Austin Reaves Being Linked To Taylor Swift

At this point, who hasn’t been linked to Taylor Swift?

In April, F1 driver and two-time world champion Fernando Alonso was rumored to be dating the popular songstress. He responded to those rumors by repeatedly trolling everyone who believed them.

Swift was also supposedly linked with Mavericks guard Jaden Hardy, Knicks guard Deuce McBride, and New York Giants linebacker Jihad Ward at one time or another that month.

Then, after going full Swiftie during two concerts at MetLife stadium, there was talk that Aaron Rodgers and Swift could hook up.

“What does Taylor Swift do next, AJ Hawk?” Pat McAfee asked on his show this week.

“What does she do? I don’t know,” Hawk replied. “She had a high-profile quarterback go to at least two of her three shows.

“I’m saying he should throw his name in the hat,” he added. “Let her know he’s interested.”

And now this week, none other than journalistic stalwart Seventeen magazine (among many, many others) are asking about a rumor that NBA star Austin Reaves has had a dalliance with the 12 time Grammy winner.

Here’s how the rumor got started…

They got the news from a since deleted tweet posted by Daily Loud, which, really, should tell you all you need to know.

Throw in a photoshopped image of Taylor Swift wearing a Reaves Lakers jersey on tour during her tour stop in Austin and voila!

While it is true that Swift recently broke up with her boyfriend Matt Healy of the band The 1975 and is supposedly back on the market, there are still a few problems with the rumor.

One, Austin Reaves has a long-time girlfriend named Jenna Barber.

Reaves and Barber have known each other since attending Cedar Ridge High School together in Arkansas and have been dating since 2014.

Then there is the fact that Austin Reaves’ brother Spencer appeared to have a very good laugh at the rumor that his sibling was dating one of the most famous women in the world.

None of that, of course, has stopped numerous people on the internet from losing their minds.

“Don’t do it, Austin,” more than one fan tweeted in response.

“THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!!! LEAVE TAYLOR SWIFT ALONE!” another very excited fan commented.
