Flau’jae Johnson could not lead LSU to victory over South Carolina during their women’s college basketball game on Friday. However, she was more concerned with the “nasty behavior” of the Gamecocks’ official in-game DJ.
DJ T.O. claims that she did not mean to mock Johnson’s dead father by playing his music after the win but her initial post on Instagram completely discredits her attempted apology.
UPDATE: South Carolina issued a statement. DJ T.O. will be suspended for the next home game.

Flau’jae Johnson is the leading scorer for the Tigers this season. Her dad, Jason Johnson, is best known by the moniker ‘Camoflauge.’ The Georgia-based rapper was murdered by gunfire outside of a recording studio in Savannah at the young age of 21 years old in 2003. He is best known for his songs ‘Laying My Stunt Down’ and ‘Cut Friends.’
Flau’jae Johnson has often discussed the role her late father has played in her life over these last 21 years. She, like him, is also a rapper in her own right.
Fast forward to Friday.
As soon as South Carolina beat LSU, DJ T.O. played the instrumental version of ‘Cut Friends’ over the in-stadium sound system. There was no way it was not on purpose. In fact, DJ T.O. appeared to confirm that it was an intentional decision with her initial post on Instagram.
She even doubled down with the use of another Camoflauge song.

Flau’jae did not appreciate the choice of music or the DJ’s response. It was gross.
I’ll take my L on the chin, but this just nasty behavior. Nun funny bout that

DJ T.O. tried to clear the air after the backlash. She tried to claim that it was standard procedure and nothing out of the ordinary. Camoflauge is one of her go-to artists. If you were offended, that’s your problem.
I apologize for playing Cut Friends Instrumental at the game yesterday. It is never my intent to disrespect anyone or offend anyone when my job is to have fun and make sure other people have a good time. I’m from the Lowcountry/C-Port area so I’ve been playing it for years, even at other games, but I shouldn’t have played it at yesterday’s game. I play it on every radio station I’ve ever done from NC, GA, & SC & grew up on Camoflauge so it’s never played with ill intent or as a joke. I can’t control how anyone takes it but I can take responsibility & apologize.

Of course, we have all seen DJ T.O.’s post on Instagram by now so we know her apology is entirely insincere. If the use of ‘Cut Friends’ was actually a mindless mistake, if she actually felt remorse, she would not have doubled down on her mockery of Flau’jae Johnson and the late Camoflauge.
