University of Georgia football fans will have to pull out their wallets if they plan on making road trips next season. The Bulldogs have a number of highly anticipated matchups on the schedule, and hotel prices are already reflecting it.

Two particular contests stand out. The Dawgs will travel to Tuscaloosa in September for a rematch of the SEC Championship Game against Alabama before making the trek to Austin for a meeting with Texas.

Both will certainly provide entertainment for viewers, but with the cities already bracing for heavy travel, rates are beginning to spike.

SEC Network host Cole Cubelic referenced those growing hotel prices on his social media feed, posting some outrageous numbers online.

That matchup against Alabama will likely be the most anticipated for Bulldog fans following the 27-24 defeat in the title game that kept Georgia out of the College Football Playoff.

The loss was UGA’s first in three seasons, ruining an opportunity to defend its two-time crown.

If you log onto the Hilton homepage, you’ll find that a number of places in town are already sold out. Those on the outskirts might cost you upwards of $500.

Over at Expedia, you’ll find a few more (expensive!) options, with most asking for thousands per night for a rental.

Hotel prices soar for UGA-Texas, too.

Austin likely has more options than Tuscaloosa, but it’s also a more popular event location. And unfortunately for Georgia fans, that Texas matchup falls on a weekend where Austin hosts an F1 race.

A quick glance at Hilton shows more sold-out rooms, and on Expedia, what’s still available will cost you $1,000 a night or more!

The 2023 postseason hasn’t even wrapped up, but folks are already prepping for next year. Just be sure those bank accounts are full before you start shopping around.

And don’t forget to save some for the tickets, which are likely to be pricey, too!
