Update:

The Jaguars have now officially signed tight end Josh Pederson, and waived/injured tight end  Leonard Taylor to make room.

Original Story:

Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to sign tight end Josh Pederson, the son of their head coach, Doug Pederson, according to by Damond Talbot of NFLDraftDiamonds.

After a successful stint at the University of Louisiana-Monroe, he had brief opportunities in the NFL, spending time with the San Francisco 49ers in 2021, the New Orleans Saints in the same year, and the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022.

The expected signing carries a unique sentimental value, as Doug Pederson will now have the privilege of coaching his own son.

In 2021, Doug Pederson, while with the Eagles, said: “Any team that is willing to give Josh an opportunity, that’s great. If it’s Philly, that’s awesome. It’s a great place to play, great fanbase, and he’d have an opportunity to do that. There are 32 teams, and hopefully, one of them takes a shot on him.”

It remains to be seen how Josh will perform with the Jaguars, but his opportunity to play under his father’s guidance could serve as a catalyst for his growth and development as a player.

The Jacksonville Jaguars, under the leadership of head coach Doug Pederson, have taken significant steps forward last season, making it to the playoffs and coming back down 27-0 to the Chargers to secure an incredible comeback win.

More big things are expected to come for the Jags under the guidance of Pederson.
