No owner if football makes himself the star of the show more than Jerry Jones does with the Dallas Cowboys. Jones, who owns what Forbes calls the most valuable sports team in the world, can almost always be found in front of a microphone or a television camera.

Though Mike McCarthy is probably the latest in a long line of Dallas head coaches who wish Jones would just stop talking. Jones has had to stick his foot in his mouth a number of times already this season,. But that hasn’t stopped him from once again talking some big talk over the Cowboys’ 40-3 win over Minnesota.

Jerry Jones Says That The Cowboys Are ‘Unequivocally’ Super Bowl Contenders

Dallas has not won multiple playoff games in a single postseason in over 25 years. But that hasn’t seemed to cause Jones’ confidence to waver. When asked if his team was a Super Bowl contender after Sunday’s resounding win, his answer was clear.

“A resounding yes. Yes. Unequivocally,” Jones said. “I think we’ve had adversity. We very easily could have more adversity … Yes, I think if we use the experience of what we’re having in the season, then we’re going to be playoff ready. But I sure do think that what I see out here right now is the team like that you could go get a Super Bowl with.” – via ESPN

The Cowboys’ win over the Vikings in Minnesota was undoubtedly impressive. The Vikings came into the game with an 8-1 record and off the back of a wild victory over the Buffalo Bills. But Dallas is also just one week removed from a huge collapse against the Green Bay Packers.

The Cowboys are a serious threat if Dak Prescott is at his best their pass rush, led by superstar Micah Parsons, is on.  But history tells us that Dallas won’t be able to get it done when the chips are down.
