After spending virtually the entire offseason trying to find a trade partner, the New York Jets have finally found a franchise that’s willing to take Zach Wilson, as the former #2 overall pick is being sent to the Denver Broncos.

Following three seasons with the Jets that saw the 24-year-old Wilson establish himself as one of the biggest busts in NFL Draft history, the former BYU Cougar will now be suiting up in the Mile High City for his fourth NFL season.

In addition to Wilson, the Jets and Broncos also exchanged late-round picks, with the Jets taking over the 203rd overall pick and the Broncos settling into the 256th slot, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Earlier in the offseason, the Jets brought in veteran backup Tyrod Taylor to hold the clipboard for starting QB Aaron Rodgers.

The news of Wilson being traded to the Broncos came on the same day that the franchise unveiled its new uniforms, which have largely been mocked by the NFL world.

Wilson joins a quarterback room that also boasts Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci, meaning he’ll certainly have a shot to earn the starting job in training camp.

The Broncos also have the 12th overall pick in this week’s NFL Draft and are expected to select a quarterback at some stage. The Jets have the 10th overall pick and are expected to select either an offensive lineman or a wide receiver.

During his three seasons in New York with the Jets, Wilson started in 34 games and went 12-21. In those 34 games, Wilson completed 57% of his passes for 6,293 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 25 interceptions. Wilson also rushed 93 times for 498 yards and 5 touchdowns.
