Jon Rahm is the No. 1 player in the world, but during Thursday’s opening round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, he did something every weekend warrior golfer can relate to.

At the Par 3 7th, Rahm narrowly missed the green but had just 22 feet to the hole. He missed his birdie attempt but was going to leave the hole with a tap-in par after leaving his putt 10 inches from the hole, or so he thought.

The Spaniard casually walked up to his ball to knock it in for par, just as he’s done thousands of times, but somehow left his tap-in short of the hole.

The video is truly mind-blowing.

The PGA Tour’s official website says that the putt was 10 inches, and Rahm hit it nine inches. After watching the video, that data seems pretty accurate, although saying his putt was 10 inches and not somewhere around five inches may be a stretch.

The fact that Rahm didn’t immediately throw his putter into the nearby body of water after missing the putt may honestly be the most shocking part of all of this.
