The 2022 season was a rough one for the Arizona Cardinals.

Expectations were high after the team started the previous season 7-0 and made it to the playoffs with an 11-6 record.

They didn’t come close to living up to those expectations.

The Cardinals struggled on both sides of the ball last season and started the year with a 4-8 record. Then Kyler Murray tore his ACL early in a Week 14 game against the Patriots and Cardinals didn’t win another game all season.

Now Murray is focused on recovering from the injury that ended his season and the Cardinals are focused on a recovery of their own.

Today, Murray took some time to discuss his recovery and last season’s struggles with Darren Urban from the team’s website. While speaking with Urban, Murray revealed that he thinks last year has to be a positive.

“It’s got to be a positive. There really is no option for it to be a negative,” Murray said

He also added that the things the team was doing last year weren’t sustainable.

“The whole (last) year was (expletive). It happened for a reason. The things we were doing weren’t sustainable for success.

It was necessary and in turn good will come out of what happened.”

If there actually was a positive to come from their awful season, the big changes the Cardinals made afterwards are that positive.

The team made changes at GM, head coach, and defensive coordinator and also brought in an offensive coordinator.

The coaching changes should have a big impact for the Arizona Cardinals after last year’s staff struggled to utilize the team’s talent and seemed to let the offense rely on Kyler Murray doing something unbelievable.

The new coaching staff won’t have Murray to work with at the start, but will have the chance to prove they are right for the job whenever he returns.
