The NFL is expected to have a major presence at the 2028 Summer Olympics after it was announced that flag football would be one of the sports included in the new field.
Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray could be one of those participants, though it may not be for Team USA. He says he’d consider suiting up for the Korean National Team if given the opportunity.

Murray has been one of the league’s most electric players since being drafted with a first-round pick back in 2019.
With the Cardinals, he’s racked up two Pro Bowl invites after being named Offensive Rookie of the Year in his debut campaign. His blend of speed and elusiveness makes tackling difficult for defenders.
The task of pulling a flag might be even more challenging!
From the sounds of it, this is a legitimate possibility. Kyler Murray spoke on the that potential Olympic appearance during a Q&A last month.

“That would be an awesome experience if they asked me to do it,” he said. “I’d have to take it into consideration… I think that’d be a great experience.”
The anticipation for the 2028 Summer Games was sparked following the conclusion of the ’24 Games in Paris. With flag football being added, the NFL emphatically announced intentions to get involved.
That included an ad that starred Jalen Hurts tossing a football into the Coliseum in Los Angeles.
Many of the league’s stars have already voiced interest in competing, though professional flag footballers want a fair shot at making the roster, too.
Flag football QB Darrell Doucette called it “disrespectful” of NFL players to think they can waltz in and secure Olympic spots. Doucette says he’s earned the right to represent Team USA, and he’s more qualified than players like Patrick Mahomes in his particular sport.
Some, including Lamar Jackson, have responded to the Olympic drama, and it will be interesting to see how heavily involved the NFL is in compiling a team.
Kyler Murray may or may not be playing in Los Angeles four years from now. He may have a couple of different options if he chooses to do so!
