Luke Voit was, at one time, a Major League Baseball home run champ. The slugger cranked an American League leading 22 long balls across just 56 games in the COVID shortened 2020 season.

While he now finds himself battling in the minor league ranks, it’s clear that his power hasn’t left him. On Sunday, he was seen cranking an absolute bomb in a game with the Syracuse Mets which caused an eruption on social media.

The first baseman smashed a pitch from a Scranton/Wilkes Barre Rail Raiders pitcher deep to centerfield, sending the 424-foot mammoth shot halfway up the scoreboard.

The home run was Voit’s fifth in 15 games with the Mets after signing a minor league deal in mid-June.

Making things better, he did so while rocking a sleeveless jersey. While teammates donned blue t-shirts beneath their uniforms, Voit opted to show off the biceps.

Fans and media were quick to post reactions to the scene in Syracuse as they joked about Voit’s hilarious look.

The Minor League Baseball social media account asked, “”Who needs shirts? … When you have guns that good, you must show off!”

MLB.com writer Bryan Hoch commented, “I’ve never seen a more Luke Voit picture.”

Jared Carrabis of DraftKings said, “Luke Voit was born to wear a sleeveless baseball jersey with the buttons undone.”

Voit is looking to battle his way back to the big leagues this season after being released by the Brewers organization on June 2nd. Over seven MLB seasons, the infielder has totaled 95 home runs while hitting at a .253 clip for his career.

Voit has spent time with the Cardinals, Yankees, Padres, Nationals, and Brewers, with his best production coming as a member of the Bronx Bombers.
