The Los Angeles Lakers haven’t had the season they’d once envisioned.

Superstars LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook teamed up to create a three-headed monster in LA at the beginning of the year, but things just haven’t quite panned out as planned.

Davis has been injured for most of the season, though there’s a possibility he could make a return for the playoffs. Westbrook has been inconsistent shooting the basketball leading to criticism on the court. LeBron’s work ethic has been questioned at times, with fans debating whether he’s more interested in his stat line or getting to the postseason.

I think last night’s win over Cleveland answered some questions.

James and Westbrook played loose in the big victory to keep those playoff hopes alive. Russ put up 20 on a solid Cavaliers squad while LeBron absolutely embarrassed Kevin Love with a vicious posterizing dunk.

The result was a 131-point outburst and an 11-point win.

As the Lakers try to get into a groove late, Magic Johnson is seeing a change in Los Angeles.

Magic Johnson Changes Tune On The Los Angeles Lakers

Early in the season, Magic Johnson was critical of the Lakers.

He wasn’t happy with the production considering the team’s championship aspirations entering the year. And he wasn’t the only one.

Fans and former players, alike, voiced their frustrations with the organization in what’s still been a subpar campaign.

But with the regular season winding down and the team seemingly heating up, those doubts are beginning to subside.

Magic, himself, is having a change of heart after seeing the most recent Los Angeles victory, and he appears to be excited for a potential playoff run.

Time will tell on the Lakers’ postseason status. As of now, they’d be in a play-in situation. As long as the don’t fall below 10th place in the Western Conference standings, a playoff run is possible.
