The wrestling world has been abuzz ever since it was revealed on Tuesday that popular wrestler Mandy Rose was released by WWE amid a cloud of controversy.

Rose was let go from the company the day after she unexpectedly lost her NXT Women’s Championship after 413 days as the title holder (read our previous reports for more details here).

The wrestler was reportedly fired by WWE over explicit content she had been posting to her FanTime account which then was leaked on to the internet.

Taking to her FanTime account (the one that reportedly got her fired), Mandy Rose wrote Wednesday night, “Hey guys, thank you for all the messages. I am overwhelmed with all the love and support from you guys. And don’t worry the page is still up! ;)”

The hashtag #rehireMandyRose started trending Wednesday night as fans expressed their anger over her firing.

It had originally been planned for Mandy Rose to defend and possibly lose her title against Roxanne Perez in January or February, but their match unexpectedly got moved up to Tuesday night with Rose surprisingly dropping the strap.

Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer reported Wednesday night, via WrestleTalk, “They switched the whole show around because they – what happened was, there was a meeting and Matt Bloom brought to Shawn Michaels, told him what some of the stuff that she’s been putting on her subscription service is. And told Shawn what was there, and Shawn’s immediate thing was, ‘We’ve got to get the title off of her immediately.’”

Meltzer also said on the show that Mandy Rose’s subscription service “got popular and lucrative, and she went further and further, and the feeling was that she way, way, way crossed the line. And they believe that they had absolutely no choice but to get rid of her.”

Following her dismissal, an outpouring of support for Mandy Rose has been coming from fans and friends. Included among them are Saraya (formerly Paige in WWE), and her Toxic Attraction teammates Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne.

Saraya was among several wrestlers who battled WWE over a 2020 edict from Vince McMahon that limited participation in social media platforms such as Twitch and Cameo without the company’s approval and cooperation.

Mandy Rose’s use of FanTime, posting in some cases nude photos and videos – which violated WWE’s “moral policies and guidelines” for its talent – made the decision pretty easy for the company when it came to her dismissal.
