Ohio State would not have won its college football game against Penn State without Marvin Harrison Jr. He accounted for more than 40% of the Buckeyes’ offensive production.

Marvin Harrison Jr, the son of a Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver with the same name, is expected to be drafted with a top-five pick during the 2024 NFL Draft in April. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound junior will be the first pass-catcher off of the board and only continued to prove why he is deserving of that honor on Saturday afternoon in Columbus.

Ohio State stayed undefeated with a 20-12 victory over the Big Ten East opponent. It totaled 365 yards of offense.

The run game, led by 62 yards on 24 carries for Miyan Williams, combined for less than 100 yards. Quarterback Kyle McCord’s right arm was responsible for the other 286, though more than half of his yardage through the air can be attributed to his star wide receiver.

Marvin Harrison Jr. is the reason that Ohio State beat Penn State.

Harrison caught 11 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown. Cade Stover, Carnell Tate, Chip Tryanum, Julian Fleming, Xavier Johnson and Williams caught a total of 11 passes for 11 yards without a touchdown.

Ohio State’s offense averaged 4.8 yards per play. Harrison averaged 14.7.

44.4% of the Buckeyes’ entire offensive output went through the best wide receiver in college football. They literally could not have defeated the Nittany Lions without him.

To make his performance even more impressive, Ohio State was without second-leading wide receiver Emeka Egbuka. Penn State put all of its focus on Harrison. He STILL could not be stopped!

Whomever lands Harrison in April is going to be very, very happy with his ability to flip a game on its head. Saturday would have gone very differently if he was not on the field, much like last year’s College Football Playoff semifinal against Georgia!
