Major League Baseball partnered with Fanatics during the offseason and it is not going well thus far. The league’s new uniforms are drawing a lot of criticism from multiple parties.

Fans are frustrated with how they look. Players are frustrated with, well, pretty much everything about them. Especially how they feel and how they fit.

Things are so bad that Fanatics customer support inadvertently offered to replace an MLB player’s terrible jersey, thinking that it was a fan who needed his order to be replaced. And the jerseys aren’t even the worst part. The pants are see-through!

It doesn’t really make any sense. Either Fanatics tried something new that was an epic failure, or the sportswear retailer cut far too many corners in an effort to increase profit. Regardless of the reason for all of the problems with the MLB’s uniforms for 2024, there are a lot of problems with the new uniforms.

Meanwhile, Nike released one of the best looks in baseball and put Fanatics to shame.

Oregon is set to pay homage to its 1954 College World Series team as it welcomes Lafayette to Eugene this weekend. The Ducks unveiled their new throwback kits, which are beautiful.

They plan to wear them at a handful of home games throughout the spring!

Not only did Nike do a phenomenal job with the look of the uniform, it did a great job with the actual product itself. The lettering was not wonky. Fans in the stands are unable to see through the pants to the players’ nether-region from the stands.

The same cannot be said for the professional level and that’s a real shame.

College baseball teams are wearing logistically sound, aesthetically pleasing uniforms with awesome backstories. MLB teams are wearing uniforms that don’t fit, look ugly, and lack history.
