Kyle Larson is considered one of if not the top driver in NASCAR by the majority of the racing world.

But even Larson, a former series champion and the favorite to win the 2023 series crown, is not immune to the occasional mistake.

The 31-year-old star ended his race early on Sunday after an accident while trying to get onto pit road.

NASCAR spotter turned podcast host Brett Griffin, however, says the crash was a matter of Larson running out of talent.

“Who runs out of talent more than Kyle Larson does,” Griffin asked on his Door, Bumper, Clear podcast. “Did he run out of talent yesterday? Is that running out of talent?”

Co-host Freddie Kraft was a bit more diplomatic, saying that Larson didn’t run out of talent, but is rather “too talented for his own good.”

The term “running out of talent” is often used to describe an incident where a driver crashes because they try to pull off a maneuver that they’re incapable of completing.

But Larson, perhaps the sport’s most talented driver, is rarely put in that category.

And fans were quick to jump on Griffin for his assessment of the situation.

“The phrase ‘Ran out of talent’ should never be associated with Kyle Larson,” @TeamKFBfan8 wrote on Twitter.

This show runs out of talent!! Larson gives his all and would you rather have someone not trying and riding around or someone giving their all,” @Wilburbonehead wrote.

While another fan took direct aim Griffin.

“Shows much better without know it all Brett who pops in and out the show like he’s some industry rockstar. Like we don’t care you spotted for Elliott Sadler in 2001. Just proposing the question didn’t 5 run out of talent is asinine. 🤡,” said @Yung_Money324.

Something tells us this is the last time Griffin will question Larson’s talent.
