Kyle Busch is one of the greatest NASCAR drivers of all-time. With two NASCAR Cup Series championships, 63 Cup Series race wins and 232 victories across the top three series to his name, Busch is a Hall of Fame lock if he retired today. His 9-year-old son Brexton, meanwhile, looks like a future superstar in his own right.
Busch and his wife Samantha began putting Brexton behind the wheel of a car at a young age and he’s already began to fly his way up through lower racing series’. Brexton announced himself to the world over the summer when he won the Junior Sprint championship at the 2025 Tulsa Shootout.
But Kyle and Brexton had never squared off with one another on the race track before. That is, not until Wednesday night when the pair raced against one another at Millbridge (North Carolina) Speedway in in a 20-lap Winged Micro Feature event.
Kyle And Brexton Busch Speak About Importance Of First Race Against One Another
Just in case Brexton was getting any funny ideas, Kyle made sure to put his son in his place during the event. Kyle got the best of Brexton on the night, taking third place in the race with Brexton coming home in sixth. Both older and younger Busch talked about the moment prior to the race.
“I wouldn’t say it’s surreal. It’s just we kind of knew this day was coming,” Kyle Busch said of facing off against his son. “I wouldn’t say it was necessarily always circled on the calendar, it just kind of popped up.”

Brexton, meanwhile, set out to beat his father, but he wasn’t going to let his confidence be dented regardless of the result.
“Tonight is definitely a learning lesson,” the younger Busch said. “It’ll be very big if I can beat him on the first night.”
After claiming bragging rights on dirt, Kyle now turns his attend back to the NASCAR Cup Series. He sits 16th in points through six races as the series heads to Martinsville Speedway, where he has won twice prior.
