Tampering claims linked to North Carolina pitcher Caden Glauber.

The North Carolina baseball team will play for a national championship in a winner take all matchup vs. Oklahoma on Monday night. According to a recent report on social media, star player Caden Glauber has been battling a distraction in Omaha.

Is the pitcher being tampered with? One college baseball insider provided his insight.

Jake McKeever shut down the narrative of shady recruiting practices. He called the claims unfounded as they lacked legitimate support.

Who is Caden Glauber?

Glauber was a top pitching prospect out of Fort Mill, South Carolina. The Catawba Ridge High School product signed with the Tar Heels ahead of the 2026 season. He’s been dominant on the mound in Chapel Hill.

As a freshman, he’s made an incredible impact. Success has been seen mainly as a reliever out of the bullpen, though he has been called upon to make three starts in the rotation.

Glauber’s gone 12-0 with a 2.05 ERA across 29 appearances. The 6-foot-4 righty is an imposing force on the mound, striking out 114 batters in 92 innings of work.

Glauber was supposed to be graduating high school this May. Instead, he left for college early to get a headstart with the Tar Heels. It’s paid immediate dividends. He’s now competing for a championship.

The reliever has been stellar in the postseason, going 3-0 with 34 Ks in six games. His most recent performance was his best.

Glauber entered an elimination game in the College World Series finals with his team leading 3-2. He was called upon following an injury to starter Ryan Lynch.

Glauber threw five frames of one-hit baseball, keeping the Sooners off the scoreboard to force a decisive rubber match.

The pitcher’s production kept the season alive. Has it also led to interest from rival suitors?

SEC teams accused of tampering.

A social media user with the handle “@Its_Coach_Steve” accused Alabama and LSU of illegally recruiting Caden Glauber. He threw an unnamed third team into the mix, too.

While he doesn’t believe Glauber was listening to tampering suitors, he insists that programs are reaching out with the Tar Heels in Omaha.

“Coach Steve” is the co-host of a UNC radio show according to his X bio, while covering other local North Carolina colleges for Greenville Sports Media.

College baseball insider Jake McKeever refuted his claims. He suggests the sources were either wrong or fake.

Tampering is an issue in college sports. Agents will use backdoor avenues to gauge transfer portal interest even during the season.

Glauber’s stock is sky high. He still has two years before he can enter the MLB Draft. He is in a unique situation, though.

The pitcher is at a school located less than three hours from home that invests in its baseball program and gives him a chance to be showcased on the biggest stage. He probably isn’t hurting for money, either.

His dad, Keith, is a former pro pitcher that spent time with the Reds and Cardinals. While his MLB career lasted just 15 innings, it’s likely he was able to save a buck or two from contracts signed.

“Coach Steve” responded to McKeever’s dismissal by doubling down. He trusts his inside information.

Imagine denying tampering in college sports in 2026. Couldn’t be me.

With that said, there is no reason for Glauber to leave Chapel Hill after a national title appearance in Year 1. Tampering claims have been rejected. He probably wouldn’t be listening anyway.
