The football world was surprised to learn on Friday that, in the words of WPLG News, “former football star, actor and acquitted murder defendant OJ Simpson has been diagnosed with cancer.”

The 76-year-old Heisman Trophy winner has reportedly been undergoing chemotherapy for prostate cancer in Las Vegas.

Many fans out there exposed their dark side upon hearing the news.

Rumors that he is in hospice care have supposedly been making the rounds, but the only person that seems to have been hearing these rumors are OJ Simpson. Rumors which he took to X (formerly Twitter) to deny.

TMZ reported on Friday, “Welp, O.J. doubled down on that denial Friday on the heels of this report coming out — and while he is denying any notion of him being in hospice … nobody seems to be claiming that.”

“Hey, X world!” OJ Simpson began his latest X video, cutting right to the chase. “Hospice?! HOSPICE?! You talkin’ ’bout hospice? [chuckles]

“No, I’m not in any hospice.”

(No one said he was.)

“I don’t know who put that out there,” he continued.

(Perhaps it was the “real” killer of Ron Goldman and Nicole Simpson.)

“But whoever put that out there, I guess it’s like The Donald say, ‘Can’t trust the media!’

“In any event, I’m hosting a ton of friends for the Super Bowl here in Las Vegas.

“All is well, you know?

“So, hey guys, take care! Have a good Super Bowl weekend!”

“The Juice” then peaced out.

Reactions to OJ Simpson’s video telling everyone he isn’t in hospice were pretty much par for the course when “The Juice” posts on X.

“I like the extra effort with the camerawork here, shooting from outside the vehicle. Tarantinoesque,” read one comment, recognizing OJ going the extra mile for his fans.

“Nicole and Ron never needed hospice,” read another.

Interestingly, back in May of 2023, OJ Simpson made an allusion on X that he “caught cancer” and had beaten it, which not many people seem to have caught. He added in that video that after dropping some weight during chemo, but that weed helped him get his appetite back.
