Deion Sanders and Colorado Buffaloes got knocked down a rung by the Oregon Ducks on Saturday afternoon.

The Ducks rolled to a 42-6 victory over the Buffs, who were without star player Travis Hunter while he recovers from a lacerated liver.

Oregon coach Dan Lanning set out to make a statement against Colorado, and his team did just that.

“Rooted in substance, not flash, rooted in substance,” Lanning said in his pregame speech. “Today, we talk with our pads…You talk with your helmet, alright? Every moment.

“The Cinderella story is over, man. They’re fighting for clicks; we’re fighting for wins. There’s a difference, right? There’s a difference, right? This game isn’t going to be played in Hollywood, right? It’s going to be played on grass, right? It’s going to be played on the grass.”

But did the Ducks have a little more help than they expected? Former Pro Bowl wideout and current Fox Sports Undisputed co-host Keyshawn Johnson says so

“You were talking about the jealousy and the way these coaches (talk) and how Deion got there,” Johnson said to co-host Skip Bayless. “It’s interesting that you said that…So I spoke to somebody in the coaching fraternity right after the game. And they know some people that coach at Oregon. And they (were) telling me, they said ‘man, I’ve never heard from another assistant coach (about) how much information was being given to that staff about game planning against Colorado so they can beat ’em.”

Johnson said that he wouldn’t disclose any names. But he was adamant that he wasn’t making it up.

The Buffaloes already had the deck stacked against them from a roster standpoint. Now it sounds like they also faced a huge game planning disadvantage.

But hey, when you’re Deion Sanders, you’re gonna have to deal with all that comes with that. Now we just have to see how he and his team adjust to those difficulties.
