As of this writing, Paige Ostroushko has yet to be charged for her role in a verbal and physical dispute with Turning Point USA reporter Savanah Hernandez. The Hennepin County sheriff’s office is silent.
An FBI investigation remains ongoing.
Meanwhile, the (former?) college soccer player at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is bragging on social media about her ability to walk free. Her father is also “second guessing” whether he should live in the United States because of the backlash.
Who is Paige Ostroushko?
A native of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Ostroushko was a promising soccer prospect. She committed to play collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and played 18 games for the Pointers during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
It is currently unclear as to whether the rising junior is still on the team. The 5-foot-7 forward/midfielder is not listed on the roster for 2026. She either quit the team prior to the spring or was removed from the program for a violation of the student-athlete handbook. I reached out to the university for additional information on her absence from the roster but I have not heard back.
Paige Ostroushko was involved with a violent altercation on the weekend of April 10 at an Anti-ICE demonstration outside of the Whipple Federal Building in Minneapolis.
A video posted by Turning Point USA reporter Savanah Hernandez appears to show Chris Ostroushko and his wife and daughter, Deyanna and Paige. Paige blew a whistle in Hernandez’s ear. She then appeared to punch and/or shove her into a chain link fence. Her mother also confronted the reporter. As did her father. He shoved Hernandez from behind and caused her to fall.
The Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the US Department of Justice promised to investigate. The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office initially confirmed the forthcoming charges:
- 1 – adult female arrested for disorderly conduct (to be charged by complaint)
- 1 – adult male arrested for GM obstruction with force – BOOKED at HCJ
- 1 – adult male arrested for GM obstruction with force (to be charged by complaint)
- 1 – adult male identified as a suspect for disorderly conduct (to be charged by complaint)
Ostroushko’s boyfriend was arrested and booked into custody on probable cause obstructing the legal process. Paige was also arrested at the scene but later released.
Multiple videos from multiple different angles show what happened to Hendandez, who claims she was not there to cause a scene— only to document the protest. However, Ostroushko claims that the videos posted by the Turning Point USA report do not present the full story. She was actually the victim.
No criminal charges… yet.
The Hennepin County sheriff’s office has not moved forward with the four charges listed above, as of this writing on the morning of April 24. It has been two weeks since the incident.
An FBI investigation remains ongoing but nothing new has been announced over the last ~14 days.
As the situation continues to unfold, the Oustroshko family patriarch says he is “second guessing” his decision to live in the United States because of how the public reacted to the incident earlier this month. He continues to assert that he and his family are the real victims here because they lost their jobs and “face one of the most overwhelming and life-altering moments they have ever experienced.” He does not understand the backlash. His family is “not violent.”
Paige Oustroshko took a similar stance to her father with the following post on Instagram. She presented herself as the victim.

Paige also posted the following video in response to comments on the internet.
Paige Ostroushko has also been bragging about how she's free and hasn't been arrested.

As of now the Hennepin County DA's office has made zero statement regarding whether or not they will be charging this family and the FBI and DHS investigation into this family is still… pic.twitter.com/ySa2FdwDx7
Notice how she is wearing a ‘Canada’ sweatshirt in both posts. I have to wonder whether that is intentional. Either way, the Oustroshko family has not yet been charged with a crime. The FBI has yet to announce an update on its investigation.
