The “intimacy ban” that was implemented at in Tokyo will be lifted at the Paris Olympics as event organizers will be handing out 300,000 condoms to athletes in 2024.

Hopefully that means that the Olympic athletes will be allowed to have a little more fun than they did at the Tokyo Games when American swimmer Caeleb Dressel, who won gold in each of his five races, said he didn’t enjoy his experience.

Sky News reports that 300,000 condoms will be available in the Olympic Village, or “enough for almost two each for every day of the Games.”

“It is very important that the conviviality here is something big,” Laurent Michaud, director of the Paris Olympic Village, which will house 14,500 athletes and staff, told Sky News.

“Working with the athletes commission, we wanted to create some places where the athletes would feel very enthusiastic and comfortable.”

He did not, however, mention what would happen if athletes busted the cardboard bed frames (built to support around 550 pounds) utilizing said condoms.

Athletes who stay at the Paris Olympic Village will also have access to several other perks, but no French champagne.

“They can have all the champagne they want also in Paris,” said Michaud.

During the Tokyo Olympics, a group of Olympic athletes were investigated after they were caught drinking outside in the Olympic Village. Police were even called to the scene. (It didn’t help TV ratings though.)

Fans at the Paris Olympics will also have a problem getting their drink on as the sale of alcohol inside sporting venues there was banned in 1991.

Back in 2021, Lolo Jones, who competed in both the Summer as well as the Winter Games, admitted that the Olympic Villages that she stayed at were pretty lit.

“There are things we don’t speak of,” she said in an interview with Kevin Hart, but did not get into any specifics.
