Patrick Reed Played Himself And Now It Could Cost Him Millions Of Dollars

Congratulations Patrick Reed, you played yourself.

The enigmatic and oft-controversial golfer could owe Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee and other news outlets millions of dollars after a defamation lawsuit backfired in stupendous fashion.

A Florida judge ruled Friday that Reed must pay for Chamblee and company’s attorneys fees and costs and determining that Reed brought the “meritless lawsuits in order to stifle free speech.”

Reed’s initial lawsuit, which was dismissed on multiple occasions, alleged that Chamblee and others attempted to engage in a smear campaign. It centered around the Masters champion’s decision to leave the PGA Tour for the LIV Golf.

But Reed and his legal team kept pushing.

Attorney Larry Klayman revealed in October that asked judge Timothy Corrigan to recuse himself from the case. Klayman asserted that his client “cannot receive a fair, neutral, and unbiased adjudication” based on the judge’s decision to throw the case out before it even reached the discovery phase.

Now it appears he’ll regret that decision.

Not only did Reed not win his initial suit. He lost in spectacular fashion.

So much so that now he is on the hook financially.

Remember folks, sometimes discretion is the better part of valor. Apparently our buddy Pat is still learning that lesson.
