Paul Pierce had a Hall of Fame NBA career. He made a whopping 10 All-Star games He won an NBA championship and an NBA finals MVP. And he was a huge part of the revival of one of the NBA’s most storied franchises.

But Pierce is perhaps best known these days for what he’s done off the court.

Pierce got himself fired from his role as an analyst on ESPN for absolutely hilarious reasons. He then celebrated that firing with an incredible birthday cake this year that commemorated the moment. Though it hasn’t all been fun and games for Pierce since retiring.

The former Celtics star caught a lot of heat for a video a year ago that appeared to show him harassing a waitress in a Las Vegas casino. In a similar matter, Pierce was sued over unpaid gambling debts.

It’s safe to say that wherever “The Truth” is, there’s going to be some sort of story shortly after. Whether it’s a good story or a bad story is anybody’s guess.

That brings us to his latest bit of news, which absolutely should be classified under the “good story category.”

Paul Pierce Has Hilarious Twitter Response To Lakers Writer That Tried To Roast Him

Pierce took to Twitter recently, as he often does, to commemorate the loss of friend and fellow NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

But because it’s Paul Pierce, it had to include a bit of comedy. Pierce asked which one of him, Bryant, or Michael Jordan (who was also pictured in the post) would take the final shot with a game on the line.

Pierce, while an outstanding player, generally isn’t discussed in the same tier as Bryant and Jordan. So Lakers writer Anthony Irwin took the opportunity to do what any good Twitter user does, get jokes off

But he probably wasn’t expecting Pierce to respond, especially with an extremely witty response.

He makes a good point!

In one clever response, Paul Pierce just vanquished a Lakers blogger and may have completely killed a meme format. That’s hall of fame stuff.
