Ex-NFL RB Rashad Jennings Had A ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Fail For The Ages Thanks To Quentin Tarantino

Wheel of Fortune tends to fall on the easier side of the game show spectrum, as you don’t really need to possess Jeopardy! levels of trivia mastery to succeed on the program. However, there are still plenty of contestants who’ve been baffled by puzzles with an incredibly obvious answer—a group that now includes former NFL running back Rashad Jennings.

Jennings was drafted by the Jaguars in 2009 and spent time with the Giants and Raiders before officially retiring from the NFL in 2017. He’s appeared in a number of televised competitions since then, as he won the 24th season of Dancing with the Stars and popped up on an episode of Guy’s Grocery Games.

On Wednesday, Jennings added another game show to his résumé when he appeared alongside retired NFL defensive ends Marcellus Wiley and Jared Allen on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

He was technically able to raise $30,000 for the charity he was playing for, but Pat Sajak and Co. chipped in $24K to supplement the $6,000 he earned during the hour-long program (Wiley and Allen respectively secured $72,050 and $119,850).

If you’ve kept tabs on Wheel of Fortune over the years, you probably know there are a ton of people who’ve been unable to solve a puzzle that should’ve been a slam dunk. Some of those implosions can be chalked up to the pressures that come with being on a nationally syndicated game show, but there are also players who simply didn’t possess the required knowledge.

Quentin Tarantino is one of the most famous living directors on the planet, and it’s hard to imagine there are a lot of people who aren’t at least aware of his existence even if they’ve never seen one of his movies.

However, there’s at least one in the form of Jennings, who only needed a single letter to solve a “RHYME TIME” puzzle that read “DRIVING TO RENO WITH _UENTIN TARANTINO.” Unfortunately, he opted for a “P” instead of a “Q” before Wiley quickly swooped in with the correct answer.

That’s just brutal.
