Baker Mayfield is likely on the move this offseason with Cleveland making a decision to move on from the former first-round pick under center.

Last week, the Browns announced the signing of QB Deshaun Watson, signaling a changing at the helm. While the deal is very controversial, it certainly represents an upgrade at quarterback for the team.

Amid all of the noise in free agency, Mayfield burned bridges with Cleveland management.

When rumors first surfaced regarding Mayfield’s future, the signal caller penned a cryptic goodbye letter to Browns fans despite his still being a part of the team. Ownership fired back by saying they wanted an adult at quarterback instead of a child.

The Browns appeared to backtrack briefly, but the relationship in Cleveland is now all but through. The only thing left to do is wait and see where Mayfield winds up.

The passer offered his ideal destination, which was Indianapolis, but the Colts passed in favor of Matt Ryan.

With the offseason market drying up, folks are beginning to predict the next landing spot. Robert Griffin III offered his opinion on Get Up Wednesday morning.

RGIII Makes Case For Seahawks To Sign Baker Mayfield

Robert Griffin III was asked about what NFL destination makes the most sense for Mayfield in 2022. He points to a team out west as a potential landing spot.

RGIII tabs Seattle as the best place for Mayfield in the upcoming season. The Seahawks need a quarterback after getting rid of Russell Wilson.

The Browns are eager to get rid of Mayfield’s contract, and Seattle presents the best remaining trading partner.

Griffin says that the Seahawks would get a “galvanizing player” in Mayfield, one that’s “willing to put everything on the line for his team.”

Mayfield does have a personality that causes teammates to rally around him, that is, until things start to get negative.

He didn’t handle criticism well in Cleveland which caused even some of his teammates to turn.

But maybe new scenery could allow Mayfield to reset. And he’d certainly have some options in the passing game with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett if he were to join the Seahawks.

Griffin thinks it could be a good fit. We’ll have to see if Seattle makes a move or if Mayfield is left at the altar by yet another suitor.
