Following five straight losses that saw them start Tim Boyle in two games, the New York Jets finally got a win on Sunday to improve their record to 5-8.

The main factor behind the Jets’ victory over the Houston Texans was the performance of the offense, which exploded for 30 points in the second half alone.

To put that in perspective, they’ve scored more than 30 points in a game just once this season.

In the game, previously benched QB Zach Wilson put on an unrecognizable performance as he completed 27 of 36 passes for 301 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. It was only the third time in his career that he’s passed for over 300 yards.

Wilson’s play on Sunday was so good that Jets head coach Robert Saleh said it was the best of his career.

“The second half, I thought Zach probably played the best game of his career,” Robert Saleh said of Wilson’s second-half performance against the Houston Texans.

Talented pass catcher Garrett Wilson, who put up a season-high 108 receiving yards on the day, was also full of praise for his quarterback.

“He balled, man. Put it all out there … throwing dots in the rain. Zach went crazy today,” Wilson told The New York Post. “We believe in him and I know he believes in us and we’re just gonna keep building.”

Zach Wilson himself even acknowledged that he played in a way he’s rarely been able to during his three years in New York City.

“The flow of just playing football today was there, and I can’t say it’s been like that a lot unfortunately in my career here,” Zach Wilson said.

Thanks to their blowout of the Texans in front of their home fans, the Jets kept their slim playoff hopes alive. With four games left on their schedule, Gang Green will take on the Miami Dolphins, Washington Commanders, Cleveland Browns, and New England Patriots.
