Everyone loves a good celebrity dating rumor. Tom Brady and Reese Witherspoon? Heck yeah! Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn/Danica Patrick/Shailene Woodley? All over it.

But Taylor Swift and two-time F1 world champion Fernando Alonso? Dating?

Yep, that was the rumor that was making its way around the racing world on social media over the weekend.

So, how did it get started?

Well, the 33-year-old Taylor Swift did recently break up with Joe Alwyn after six years together. And 41-year-old Fernando Alonso did also reveal that he and his long time girlfriend Andrea Schlager had called it quits.

So, naturally, according to a gossip site, “a couple of Spanish magazines have been posting about TS and Spanish F1 driver Fernando Alonso. According to them, the couple has been seeing each other for a week now. Nothing serious since they are both recently single.”

No one, like say a couple of well-known NASCAR drivers, could possibly take a rumor like that seriously, could they?

Now, hold on a second. Before you scoff and say it’s all nonsense…

Taylor Swift did perform at the F1 event in Austin, Texas back in 2016.

And Swift’s “1989” world tour was the sponsor of Tony Kanaan’s IndyCar at the Detroit Grand Prix in 2015.

Then there is the fact that Fernando Alonso recently tweeted that he is “Feeling 33.” That’s the same age as Taylor Swift and a very similar quote to the lyrics in her song “22.”

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22
Everything will be alright if you keep me next to you
You don’t know about me, but I’ll bet you want to
Everything will be alright (alright) if we just keep dancing like we’re 22

So, could it possibly be true that Taylor Swift is dating Fernando Alonso? Let’s check in with the man himself on TikTok.

Oh no he didn’t!
