South Carolina QB Spencer Rattler performed at his Pro Day on Tuesday, flashing his talents to NFL coaches. The passer threw with offensive coordinators from the Bengals, Panthers, and Raiders reportedly in attendance.

One of the NFL Draft’s more intriguing prospects, Rattler could go as high as Day 2 or fall to as far as the fifth round. To keep improving his stock heading into the event, he spun it for scouts at the Gamecocks’ football facility.

And he certainly did his best to impress.

Arm talent has never been an issue for Rattler, with most believing his problems to stem from the neck up.

Attitude and inconsistency had plagued him throughout his high school and college careers, but he did his best to shut down the narrative of being a bad teammate upon transferring from Oklahoma.

Under the direction of head coach South Carolina Shane Beamer, the quarterback blossomed into an on-field leader during his two seasons in Columbia, which allowed him to place his focus on the playing field.

Year 1 with the Gamecocks started slowly but ultimately ended in success. After throwing for just five touchdowns and nine interceptions across his first eight games on campus, a switch flipped.

Over his final five contests of that 2022 campaign, the gunslinger tossed 13 scores to just three picks while knocking off the likes of playoff contenders Tennessee and Clemson.

That made Rattler one of the more hyped passers upon entering his senior season, and while the Gamecocks’ win total dipped in his final year, his on-field production continued to improve.

He had his best year to date, throwing for a career-high 3,186 yards and 19 TDs behind a suspect offensive line. Now, it’s onto the next step.

Spencer Rattler threw for NFL OCs at his Pro Day.

He was seen casually dropping 65-yard dots to South Carolina receivers, hitting teammates in stride at the goal line time and again. Again, arm strength has never been the issue.

In attendance were offensive coordinators from Cincinnati, Carolina, and Las Vegas as well as wide receiver coaches from the Cowboys, Jets, Giants, and Patriots – a team he’s already spoken to throughout this draft process.

The Pro Day showing wrapped up what’s been a busy offseason for Spencer Rattler, who also took part in the NFL Combine after winning MVP honors at the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Where will Spencer Rattler be drafted?

Right now, it seems a toss-up. While he’s clearly seated behind top passers Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye (at least in the eyes of most scouts), Rattler falls firmly into that second-tier conversation with QBs like Bo Nix and Michael Penix.

Depending on how much a team likes him, he could find a way into the second round, though most are slotting him with a third-round projection.

We’ll soon find out as draft day quickly approaches. Rattler’s done all he can to this point to boost his value.
